Now, Google is providing you with a direction to the nearest restroom/ bathroom. That is, if you’re in India. Google and the Indian Government have embarked upon a new partnership to create a toilet locator app that takes users to the nearest public washroom.

It was launched recently in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. Currently, the app is offering only directions to the closest toilet. But it hopes to do even more in future, including informing users as to the cleanliness of the facilities or whether or not one will have to pay when one gets there.

It is a move toward using technology to solve a public health issue, which is clearly  in the right direction.
